Getting the most from the all new DeMIX Pro Version 4
TO GET THE MOST FROM THE ALL NEW DEMIX PRO V4 THERE ARE SOME FUNDAMENTALS THAT YOU CAN FOLLOW TO IMPROVE THE RESULTS THAT YOU CAN OBTAIN
Since we launched DeMIX V4 in late November 2022 we have been blown away with the response that we are getting from our users.
Version 4 brought some major changes to our flagship software. Gone is the old spectral editing function - so confident were we in the separation quality of our new bespoke AI driven algorithms. These algorithms now also include Piano and Strings.
The most exciting addition for our users appears to be local desktop/device processing and offline capability giving them the choice of separating locally or in the cloud. A new interface workflow has topped it all off.
To get the most from the all new DeMIX Pro V4 there are some fundamentals that you can follow to improve the results that you can obtain:
1. 'Bad input produces even worse output'
For quality output use the highest quality input file available, such as a WAV file, or a lossless format such as FLAC. DeMIX 4’s advanced algorithms will be better able to lock onto the vocal and instruments more cleanly.
2. 'Shorter snippets are not always better'
If you are extracting a single vocal snippet or drum loop from a full song it is best to capture a few seconds of audio both before and after the excerpt you want to extract and then edit this.
3. 'Let masking be your friend'
Users sometimes do not realise that artifacts will often be masked out by the presence of other instruments in a new mix. Be brave with your separated stems and throw them into your new mix - you will be surprised with the outcome.
